Cost Information

The total cost for this pilgrimage is $3700 per pilgrim, double-occupancy; the single supplement is $825.

If your registration form includes a roommate’s name, you will be paired with that person. However, in the event that you register as an unaccompanied single and do not indicate that you would like a single room, you will be paired with another unaccompanied person of the same sex, in the approximate order that applications are received. Please note that if we do not have anyone to match with you, you will be asked to pay the single supplement. Unaccompanied singles who would like to be placed with roommates are advised to submit their applications early to avoid paying the single supplement.

The cost includes travel (all flights, round-trip from RDU, buses, and transfers), accommodations (double occupancy, as described), all admissions and guiding/leadership costs for visits included in the itinerary, and meals as described (not including beverages), among other things.

The cost does not include your insurance, local tips, passports, travel visas, personal expenses, and other items as listed above. Tips will be calculated about six weeks in advance of departure and you will receive an email letting you know the tip amount for this pilgrimage (usually around $12 per person per day). In accordance with the local travel industry custom, we handle tips as a group. As well, we calculate for donations to churches, honoraria for speakers, and other incidental fees. These costs are included in the total price and it is intended to make the process hassle-free for participants – you don’t need to worry about making donations at holy sites as we will be doing this on behalf of the whole group. Finally, you may be asked to purchase a book or two as a part of the preparation process – these costs will not exceed $50 per person and are an optional extra should you wish to participate.

The registration deadline for this pilgrimage is January 1, 2012 and spaces are limited. There are a maximum of 32 places (not including the leadership team). To register, please complete the registration form and submit it along with your $500.00 deposit.

A note about pricing for the pilgrimage: This is a ministry and not a business opportunity. While we calculate the price to include leadership costs, it is our expectation and commitment to you that the financial records for the pilgrimage be open and clear and not include any profit for your leaders (apart from the joy of accompanying you on this experience). And, while we are pretty good at calculating costs for the group, if there are any funds left over at the end of the trip, they will be dealt with as follows: If the funds are less than $50 per person, a donation will be made to an outreach ministry of your parish, the ministry to be chosen by the
pilgrimage participants from each congregation. If there is more than $50 per person, then checks will be issued to each participant to refund the difference. You will pay what it costs for this pilgrimage.
