Music Director

Boyd Gibson has served as Music Director since September 1996.  He is a graduate from Howard University, B.M. 1978, and M.M. 1986.  He has also completed additional graduate studies in Musicology and Composition at Duke University.

Boyd is the String Orchestra Director at the Durham School of the Arts.  Before coming to North Carolina to study at Duke he was Director of Choral Activities at the University of Eastern Africa in Kenya.  Boyd and his wife Wanda were married in 1981 and have three daughters, Eugenia, Deborah, and Faith.  

Boyd is also an avid racquetball player.
