Youth
The goal of the Youth Commission is to help each teenager in our parish community grow into the full stature of Christ. Beyond the formation of Sunday morning learning and worship, Holy Family's Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) meets weekly throughout the school year and frequently in the summer. Current and upcoming activities are listed below and in Sunday bulletin announcements. Join us as we explore and practice living into our baptisms through learning, serving, discussing, and fellowshipping.
EYC
Regular meetings occur on Sunday evenings throughout the school year. Youth meet by grade level, Jr. EYC from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the House; Sr. EYC from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Each week we share a meal, music, and interactive lessons, discussions, and games.
EYC Vespers Service
The EYC Vespers Service is the result of the Sr. EYC creatively using the “An Order of Worship for the Evening” rubric from the Book of Common Prayer (pp. 109-114). The Bible Reading comes from the “EYC Lectionary,” which aims to lead us through the Story of Salvaiton throughout the year – from Creation to Coming Kingdom. The goal of the Sr. EYC Vespers Service is to allow the youth of Holy Family to practice using their gifts to help God’s people worship God in spirit and truth. We value this chance to practice our faith as we learn to live into our baptism. Thank you for your encouragement.
EYC Vespers Services occur once in Fall and once in Spring, and each service is open to families, friends, and other members of Holy Family. Services will be announced in advance. For more information, please contact the Youth Minister.
Girls and Guys Groups
Sometimes you just need a little space for women to do womanly woman things and men to do manly man things! As a true hodgepodge of structured discussions, long tangents, tasty snacks, listening to music, collage construction, board games, and playful banter, Girls and Guys groups serve as a means by which youth form relationships with each other and their leaders (all older adults from Holy Family). Largely driven by the interests of the youth involved, no two groups are quite the same.
Current Groups:
Middle School Girls (6th-8th graders)
Sr. Girls Group (9th-12th graders)
Sr. Guys Group (9th-12th graders)
Contact Paul Cizek, the Youth Minister, for information about meeting times and locations.
